About our sarees
Silk
Popularity of silk is due to its versatility. Being a natural protein fabric, we find many variants with texture variations.
A simple test to identify pure Silk:
Clip a small piece of the silk thread. Burn it with a candle. Real silk smells like burnt hair. It burns only when the fire is applied and leaves a brittle ash. Synthetic silk smells like plastic and leaves a melted bead.

Mulmul
Mulmul or muslin is a cotton fabric of plain weave, handwoven from uncommonly fine yarn. Dotting an eminence in the history of fashion only for royalties earlier, the journey of the fabric echoes the pride of the Bengali weavers.
The purity of the carefully handpicked cotton brings alive every yarn spun weaving the illustrating the sheen, lustre and beauty of the designs.

Handloom
Handloom sarees are a traditionally handwoven with a legacy lasting generations.
A handloom saree is often woven on a shuttle-pit loom made from ropes, wooden beams and poles. The shuttle is thrown from side-to-side by the weaver. Other weavers use a fly-shuttle loom which can produce different types of patterns. The handloom saris are made from silk or cotton threads and completion of a single saree takes about 2-3 days.
